London Fashion Week Has Begun

The first day at London fashion week has come and gone, and it seemed that quite a lot of people had forgotten it was still very definitely winter. There were more bare legs than on the beach. Zoe Jordan hit the ground running as she opened LFW, with bold print T-shirts in silk and leather. Her tailoring was perfection and combined a little splash of the much needed colour- allowing oranges pinks pop through her AW13 collection.

Leggings were still relevant but the Jordan’s flare for style brought the perfect trouser wear forward for the more than fashionable office dweller. Jordan famously designs for ‘the woman who is a boy’s best friend- and a girl’s confidante’. Approval was issued all round. LFW had begun. As with every collection there is always a little blip and this came in the form of metallic golds. They were more than reminiscent disco chic than London Fashion Week.

The fusion

Then next show on the menu was: Bora Aksu who offered a fusion of nudes and bold purples combined with unflattering head wear. There were a few stand out pieces but the whole collection seemed to be a fusion of confusion, and most certainly won’t be our stand out show of the week.

Felder Felder, up the ante and showed they were a force to reckoned, when their show bulldozed its way into LFW, first day highlights. The super cool collection of unusual fabrics was certainly a hit. Featuring latex leggings, beautifully edgy macs and velvet suits all teamed with towering stilettos. Combining the perfect level of exquisite tailoring with enough edge, for the 80’s to be jealous. This show secured the Felder sisters place on the fashion map.

The first of the runway stumbles happened in this show. ‘Let’s just say the stilettos wanted to show how fierce they were’ but nothing could taint the success of this show.

A slight runway tumble

Molly King attended the show on the front row, and like so many others seemed to have misplaced her tights, and forgotten it was still winter.

Onwards to day two.
