Sushi In London Town

Last week I had the pleasure of visiting Sushi Shop – the new sushi café off the chic Marylebone High St.

This is the second UK outpost for the French upmarket chain (the other is in South Ken), which opened first in 1998 in Paris, before sushi had truly become the go-to lunch or dinner for urbanites, high flyers and yummy mummies.

Now with more than 90 stores across France, Francophiles no-doubt will be delighted to see their favourite chain opening in central London. In its new 2016 menu, Sushi Shop presents Donburi – a hot dish available in beef or salmon. The traditional bowl, made up of of hot rice topped with meat, fish or vegetables, is a staple of Japanese cuisine.

Serving high end takeout and delivery, with 70% of orders taken at night, the chain knows it’s fashion credentials, having collaborated with Kate Moss and Lenny Kravitz on designer ‘Black Box’ sushi sets. The chain also has worked with Michelin-starred Joël Robuchon. So it’s safe to assume where all the darlings of fashion week will be dining next week. VOLCANO_ROLL
