Sweet Thursday

If you are looking for an easy dining experience then ‘Sweet Thursday’ is definitely the one for you. Set in the rather exclusive streets of De Beauvoir in East London, you might expect a stuffy restaurant with no atmosphere.

But ‘Sweet Thursday’ was a charming surprise, we arrived on a freezing cold Friday night to a packed restaurant, but immediately there where friendly waiting staff to assist. The front entrance hosts a wine shop and the feeling of Italy was ever present.

To be honest the setting was very much self made, and if it wasn’t so charming it might have been tragic. The chairs, and tables look liked they had been borrowed from the local school, and the menu was kept up right by old tomato cans. Each and every item contributed to this charming little restaurant being just perfect for relaxed dining.

Sweet Thursday

I hate a restaurant that makes me want to leave as soon as I have finished my meal. Feeling relaxed and comfortable we settled down to pick our pizza, I choose a classic, simple but effective margarita and my dining partner pick something rather more extravagant a Salame which consist of salame, tomatoes, scamorza, chillies, black olives.

The wine menu also has an affordable Prosecco which is just perfect for me: Pizza and presseco what more could a girl want.

The food came promptly and the pizzas were enormous, and they cook in olive oil which is reassuring being a nut allergy sufferer. Unfortunately the waiting staff became slightly less attentive and it was a little hard to get another drink, but it was understandable given the amount of people jammed into this very busy restaurant.

Pizzas range from £7 to £15 for the most extravagant and Prosecco is priced at an affordable £7.50 a glass. The whole experience was simply perfect.

Don’t be fooled this is not a high-end dining experience, which is why I loved it, it was just good quality food at a affordable price set in a charming surround, all of which created the comfortable atmosphere I so enjoy.

Sweet Thursday’ comes highly recommend here at Fashion Forensics.
